Terms and Conditions

Last updated July 31, 2026

These are the rules for using thisguycooks.com, run by This Guy Cooks in Los Angeles, California. The plain version: cook anything here for anyone you like, and do not republish my words, photos, or video as your own.

Using the site

  • Personal, non-commercial use.
  • Do not scrape it, copy it in bulk, or mirror it somewhere else.
  • Do not try to break it, or reach any part of it that is not public.
  • You need to be 13 to subscribe or comment.

The recipes, and everything around them

The writing, photography, video, and design here are mine or licensed to me.

Yours to do. Cook the recipes as often as you want, for family, for friends, for paying guests in your own kitchen. Print one. Link to any page and share the link anywhere.

Not yours to do. Republish the recipe text, headnotes, photos, or video on another site, in a book, in a newsletter, or on social as your own. Rewriting the steps in your own words while keeping my recipe, my photos, or my copy is still republishing. Want to feature something, ask. The answer is usually yes.

What you post

Your comments and ratings stay yours. Posting them gives me permission to show them here and to quote them. Keep it civil and keep it yours. I can remove anything, at any time.

What this site is not

Nothing here is medical, nutritional, or food safety advice. Some links earn a commission, and some posts are made with a brand. Links out go to sites I do not control. The Site Disclaimer covers all of it, and it is part of these Terms.

Availability and warranties

The site is provided as is and as available, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. I may change or remove anything without notice, and I do not promise the site is always up. Some states do not allow every exclusion, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, your reliance on anything here, or the preparation or consumption of any recipe. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to one hundred US dollars.

If your use of the site breaks these Terms or the law and it costs me something, you cover the reasonable costs and claims that result.

Governing law

California law governs these Terms, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Los Angeles County.

Changes

Changes take effect when posted, and the date at the top tells you when. Keep using the site and you accept them.

Questions
